The Noralux size guide
A few measurements are all it takes. Choose your type of light, move the sliders, and see your room drawn to scale.
01 · Pendant lights
Hung too high, a pendant floats awkwardly. Too low, it blocks the view across the table. Tell us where it will hang and we will work out the drop, the shade size and the spacing for you.

Two or three pendants
Check the cord before you order. Every product page lists the suspension length under Technical information. Make sure it covers the drop from the ceiling shown above, and fine-tune the height once the light is installed.
02 · Ceiling lights & chandeliers
Too small and a ceiling light looks lost; too large and it overwhelms. Add the length and width of your room in metres, multiply by 8.3, and you have the ideal diameter in centimetres. Try it with your own room.
Over a dining table, size to the table rather than the room: about half to two-thirds of its width.
By ceiling height
Under 2.4 m
Flush or semi-flush
Sits close to the ceiling and keeps the room feeling open.
2.4 – 2.7 m
Pendants & compact chandeliers
Most designs work beautifully. Keep 210 cm clear where people walk.
Above 2.7 m
Statement chandeliers
The height to let a sculptural piece take centre stage.

03 · Wall lights
Height is the difference between a wall light that feels intentional and one that feels awkward. Keep the light just above eye level so it glows without glaring, and use pairs to bring calm to a room.
